AN INSIDE LOOK
Below you'll find a comment from each of the member's of Future Rock about each of the tracks on the album. Enjoy!

Airplane Traintracks
Felix: Spread your arms. Sprint full speed on top of railroad tracks alternating rails each stake.
Mickey: The voice of god sound that goes throughout the song was a complete accident. I was creating a distorted guitar-like sound for another part of the song, changed one knob setting from 100% to 0% and the sound was just there.
Darren: When we play this song live, I always ask, "What's the name this song OR how does it go again?"

Cosmos
Felix: The third moog melody represents the Neitzche in your life.
Mickey: The first song we recorded for the album, although the beginning and end weren’t completed until much later. This song was one of the biggest challenges, even though we've played it live more times than any other song.
Darren: You should hear how it kicks in live.

Broken Glass
Felix: Race Car. You won.
Mickey: The chord progression is stolen from Phillip Glass’s "Koyanistoski" soundtrack. The coolest part about this song, by far, is the bass line which cycles differently than the rest of the song.
Darren: No, we aren't ripping off your band, we're ripping off P. Glass!

el sueco
Felix: Synth solo... one take. Dedicated to the Swede Nacho.
Mickey: One of my favorite memories from the album came during the recording of the keyboard solo on this song. Felix played the solo, and I was listening in on my headphones as he was recording the part. I had the biggest grin on my face because I could just tell as he was playing the first take that it was a keeper.
Darren: What is a sueco?

She Is Waiting
Felix: Hurry please. Drum lines make this track.
Mickey: It took us about 1 hour to record this entire song, and it was all in one sitting. It was by far the quickest and easiest song to record.
Darren: Another drum track brought to you by programming. I wasn't even in there during the creation, recording, ect. of this song... but I'm not bitter, more drinking time for me!

Manager’s Special CD
Felix: All work no play... all work no play... all work no play...
Mickey: I used one of Darren’s beats on this song and recorded three different baselines that could work. I ended up using all three baselines, two of which are playing simultaneously during the first half of the song. The way the bass parts fit together, it sounds like only bass line, and one that would be impossible to actually play. I think that’s pretty cool.
Darren: My favorite tune on the album. All of my best loops masterfully put together by my Mick Dawg.

Azalea
Felix: The pretty one.
Mickey: No comment. Felix did all the work on this song.
Darren: Yes, electronic bands can write ballads too. This one has no cheesy lyrics to cringe over.

fm1
Felix: The party track. The first song written for this album.
Mickey: This was the first for the album that we hadn’t previously played live. Felix wrote and played all the keyboard parts and I wrote the drum part. After we finished constructing the first version of the song, I knew the album was going to be so much fun to make. The funny part is that this is the last song to be completed for album, as we re-worked some of the drum parts after we finished all the other songs.
Darren: Check out the live 8" popcorn snare!

Zipper Front
Felix: I've heard this album a lot; I still like this one. The second song written for this album.
Mickey: This is my favorite song on the album – I love how it abruptly starts and how it builds and flips around into the second section. I also love playing this song live. For some reason, it is just easy to evoke emotion when playing this song and Darren’s drumbeat is just killer.
Darren: I get this song confused with Airplaine Traintracks when we play it live.

Narrow Bridge
Felix: Mickey's Masterpiece. The synth loop penetrates my brain. ~piano~
Mickey: This is the first song I wrote specifically for the album. After I completed it, I was floored at how far I had come as a composer. I was learning to use the software as I was writing this song and when I finished and realized that it came out exactly as I intended I felt much more confident about using the software and it became much easier to compose and edit the rest of the album.
Darren: I've always had a thang for that pseudo samba beat.

_BGB
Felix: Let's be reflective, the crowd needs a breather.
Mickey: I think this is the most "live-sounding" track on the album, mostly due to Darren’s awesome drum part. The first half of the song, Darren used his mallets and then ran the drums though some filters creating a really cool effect.
Darren: Live drums can be quantized too!

Me & Alfonso
Felix: Uh...oh...hip-hop...uh...uh...
Mickey: One of the earlier songs we recorded for the album. This was another one where Felix played all the parts and I recorded them. We were still fairly new at using the software and I remember struggling as we attempted to structure the song.
Darren: I wish it was me and Fonsy from "Happy Days" TV show.

Suburban Portrait
Felix: Three Drum Parts. Three Live Takes.
Mickey: This is another song where I listened in while one of the tracks we used was recorded. This time, though, it was Darren playing a live take on his drums and just nailing the part on his first take.
Darren: A lot like corporate art (but in a good way).

Dear Wendy Carlos
Felix: She never wrote me back so I wrote her this song. If you dont know her you should. This one took me the longest. ~concious~
Mickey: Ha! Some of the parts in this song required Felix to play the part on the keyboard while I swept the filter for him. As I recall, it took many tries to get it all right, but it was worth it.
Darren: aka William Carlos.
